“It’s important to me to remain people-focused,” says Debbie Latham, President and CEO of Right Diet Online. “I want to know the problems clients encounter trying to control their blood sugars so that together we can figure out a solution that is “do-able” for them.”
The positive and energetic diabetes educator graduated from Texas Tech University in 1985 with a B.S. in Food and Nutrition. She completed a Dietetic Internship at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas in 1987 and began work as a clinical and administrative dietitian. She is a much sought after guest lecturer, speaking on diabetes, motivation, and weight control, and is currently under a speaking contract to a well known pharmaceutical company specializing in diabetes.
As a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator, Debbie worked with patients in a private practice setting for 13 years, developing a keen understanding of the unique needs of diabetics and their families. In 2006, Debbie left a very successful private practice to pursue Right Diet Online, an internet based diabetes education and support website, full-time.
“There is such a need for accessible, people-centered diabetes care,” states Debbie. “Diabetes is unmanageable without it! At Right Diet Online, we want to provide excellent diabetes education, but more importantly, to provide patient-friendly support to help diabetics apply that knowledge to their everyday lives.”
